How many behind-the-wheel lessons does my student need to take with Just Drive?

Each student needs to complete 6 behind-the-wheel lessons with Just Drive. Each lesson is 2 hours long and consists of 1 hour of driving and 1 hour of observation.

Your son or daughter has been given all the instruction on scheduling their behind the wheel lessons. We believe that driving a car is a huge responsibility, so start by having your son or daughter schedule their own lessons.

Where do I find my instruction permit (temps) number?

Your instruction permit (temps) number is located on your instruction permit below your picture. It begins with the first letter of your last name and is followed by 13 numbers. The letter, along with the numbers are your instruction permit (temps) number.

How many behind the wheel lessons should my student schedule each month?

Your student should schedule 1 or 2 lessons per month. This allows the student to practice what they were taught on their lesson, and also gives everyone else a chance to schedule lessons each month. Remember, a student must hold their instruction permit for 6 months and complete 6 lessons before they can take their road test.  Please contact the franchise you are signed up with to confirm how many lessons you may schedule per month.

Your instruction permit (temps) number is located on your instruction permit below your picture. It begins with the first letter of your last name and is followed by 13 numbers. The letter, along with the numbers are your instruction permit (temps) number.

How do I cancel a behind-the-wheel lesson I scheduled?

You will need to call or email the Just Drive location you are signed up with to cancel a lesson. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance, or fail to show up for a scheduled lesson you will be charged a fee. We don’t like doing this, but we do have to pay an instructor to be there for the lesson and if you cancel your lesson early enough (at least 24 hours in advance) we can probably find someone to take the lesson. We believe that driving a car is a huge responsibility, so start by having your student schedule their own lessons.

How long does my student need to drive with their instruction permit (temps)?

If your student is under 18 when they get their instruction permit, they must have their permit for at least 6 months. For example, if they get their instruction permit when they are 16, they must be 16.5 before they can take their road test to get their license.

Why doesn't Just Drive pick my student up at home for their behind the wheel lessons?

Just Drive believes that picking the student up at home and having them drive to the next student’s house is not a good practice. With Just Drive‘s behind the wheel program, both students get in the car at the same time so they both hear all the instruction that is given. By picking up the students at the same time, neither student is shorted any driving or observation time in order to pick up or drop off the other student.
