When the teens lost control of their car they probably were not very focused. The rain defiantly could be a factor in why they lost control, but two teens in a car typically means a bit of screwing around. I think when the officer said, drive reasonable and prudent, he meant, think about what the driving conditions are and don’t drive fast if it’s raining and be more alert depending on the situation. A lack of driving experience could for sure be a factor. New drivers don’t normally have the best maturity and they might have been screwing around.I believe its significant that the crash was at 8:30 A.M. because that means the teens probably weren’t as alert as they normally are.

One of the other reasons these teens could have crashed is they could have been texting and driving. what I think prudent speed means a speed that is safe in that environment/weather.  The lack of driving experience may have played a role in this crash because they were teens and may not have that kind of experience. I think the fact that this crash happened at 8:30 am is significant because the drivers may have been sleep deprived and were really tired and were in no condition to drive.  This is something that can be avoided if you drive appropriately in the severe weather conditions.  If it is raining outside then they should drive slower than the speed limit but if the conditions are nice then you can and should drive the speed limit.

The teens could have been driving faster than the speed limit posted and then add the weather conditions it just makes it worse. The teens also could have been distracted on their phones or the passenger could have been distracting the driver. It means that no person should drive faster then the recommended speed limit and no driver should drive slower that is a problem to traffic. The lack of driving experience I am sure had a huge role on this because with the weather these teens did not have enough experience to know what the rode is like when the weather is bad. If the crash happened at 8:30 am the teens could have been very tired and not pay attention to the road. that is significant because the teens probably were up all night playing video games and they had to go on the road with the lack of sleep.
